Solenoid Valves
Solenoid Valves from RAM Company
Designed and manufactured at RAM, solenoid valves are the fastest growing segment of our business. Solenoid valve capabilities include the following:
- Hydraulic MIL-PRF-5606
- Hydraulic MIL-PRF-83282
- Jet Fuel MIL-C-7024
- Skydrol 500B-4
- Helium
- Nitrogen
- Argon
- Air
- Specials

Common types of solenoids valves include:
- Two way, three way and four way
- Pilot Operated
- In line
- Spool
- Cartridge
- Co-axial
- Proportional
- Latching
- Position
- Butterfly
Cartridge
Cartridge valves are the most commonly manufactured RAM Company solenoid valve design. This type pf valve lends itself to simplicity and high efficiencies. Designs are available in two or three way flow as well as direct or pilot operated. Pneumatic solenoid valves can be designed up to operating pressures of 10,000 psig. Hydraulic solenoid valves can be designed to yield flow rates of up to 20 gallons/minute.
Applications are numerous! This type of solenoid valve can be found in many hydraulic and fuel systems.
Cartridge type solenoid valve features include the following:
- Fluids MIL-PRF-5606, MIL-PRF-83282
- MIL-C-7024 calibration fluid
- 2 way, 3 way, 4 way
- Operating pressures from 0 to 5000 psig
- Proof pressures from 0 to 7500 psig
- Flow rates from 0 to 20 gpm
Other design options include:
- 2 to 4 coil redundancy
- Latching, magnetic or mechanical
- Over molded coils
- Rubber molded poppets
Butterfly:
RAM Company rotary Butterfly Valves utilize the unique benefits of the RAM Company rotary solenoid, integrated with a valve body for excellent operational performance. Without the corkscrew motion that other rotary solenoid designs yield, RAM Company rotary butterfly valves use less components which translate into longer life, quicker response times and better repeatability throughout the life of the valve. Butterfly valves can be designed as either normally-open or normally-closed in the de-energized position.
Ram Company rotary butterfly valves are commonly used on low pressure bleed air applications.
Features of the Rotary Butterfly design include the following:
- Sizes from 1" to 3" diameter
- Operating pressures from 0 to 10 psig
- Normally open or closed
- Low pressure drop
- Corrosive environments
